Preschool Today

I was in charge of Eve's preschool today so we met at a park on the Potomac and read about Pocahontas and the Indians of Virginia. After we finished the story Eve wanted to be Pocahontas, of course, and decided that Oak should be John Smith. Here she is saving his life.

Here's Eve's buddy River. The toughest kid you'll ever meet and always barefoot.

Assateague Island

This last weekend we went camping at Assateague Island on the Atlantic side of the Chesapeake Bay. We were right on the beach which meant that Eve was able to experience the ocean for the first time. Of course Assateague Island is famous for it's wild ponies. There were tracks and dropping around our campsite but we didn't see any our first day.

This is what we woke up to the next morning. And right in our campsite too.
