Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day weekend was made extra extra special by the fact that we were able to chick-sit for a neighbor. Scott especially was super excited about this. Other things we did was we went to Discovery Park where Eve insisted on walking herself as we made the 1+ mile hike at a pace of about a 45-minute mile to the look out point where you have amazing views of the Sound. We also went to the Arboretum where Eve played one of her favorite games. She kept Scott busy picking bigger and bigger bunches of dandelions. All in all, a great Memorial Day.

Eve vs the Dandelions

Endless Fun

Looks like Eve won

I think she had just taken a bite of dandelion seeds

I think we've gone to a swing set everyday for the past 5 days.

Oh what a cute little boy!

When I was 10 years old or there abouts, my Mother came up with the idea that if she let me get my hair cut at a real beauty salon I just might realize that it's not so bad looking like a girl. A good idea to be sure but she made one fatal mistake. She dropped me off and said she'd be back to pick me up in half an hour, without having talked to the hair stylist. "Great!" I thought. I can get any hair cut I want! And I did. And a lovely shag it is too.

And that brings us to today where Scott left the responsibility of picking out some new shoes, shorts and a hat for Eve. So I mosey on over to the children's consignment store across the street and this is the end result. As we were walking to the park afterwards people kept on complimenting me on how cute my little boy was (something my poor Mother heard about her 2nd-to-youngest daughter until I was 13 years old).

Like my Mother who never dropped me off alone at a salon again, I don't think Scott will let me do the shopping for Eve by myself anymore.

You've got to admit, those are pretty sweet shoes.

Burts vs flower

Yesterday the weather was absolutely gorgeous so we , naturally , headed off to the park. This was good because I had wanted to take some pictures of Eve in order to make Mother's Day cards for Scott's and my mothers. However, between a passing dog and the swings we had a hard time getting Eve to stay still. I got the brilliant idea to give her my open Burt's Bees Wax lip balm. She's happy but not the best looking photo prop I've seen.

Scott decided to try and give her a flower instead.
A good idea don't you think?

I think she's going for it.

This is right after I took the Burts away.
Definitely not going as planned.

Limited verbal skills doesn't stop her;
"No, not the flower! I want the squishy stuff!"

In Remembrance of the Burts (it was full before hand)

So much for the Mother's Day cards
